The dress comes with a notarized letter of provenance from famed Hollywood hairstylist Sydney Guilaroff, who did hair for Raquel Welch for films and for personal appearances in Los Angeles. The letter states in part, "Raquel gave me this heavy 1980s gold and black sequined evening dress with heavy black beaded shoulder accents to add to my collection. No one has worn it since Raquel." Sydney Guilaroff was a hair stylist during Hollywood's Golden Age who was the first to receive on-screen credit in films.
