Description

This is a rare Mid Nineteenth Century "Pot Holder" Album or “Sampler” Quilt.
It dates to the 1840's and has never been used or washed.
It is in exemplary condition with only one or two small age spots.(See pictures)
These types of quilts are pieced in squares and then the squares are individually bound and finally sewn together.
This one was made for a 4 poster bed.
It is light weight and the cotton is still quite crisp.
This rare quilt measures 85" X 78".

You’ll look a long time to find one of these. It took me 44 years.
