Fine Craven Family 1860s Sorghum Jug from White County, Mossy Creek District, Georgia. This is a very fine example of a Civil War period vessel and has the classic double strap handle and a flat top rim, which is rarely seen in White county by the Craven family. This one has a 4 on the shoulder and has a rich earthy green lime alkaline glaze. The jug is one of the more sought after forms being a double handle vessel. Standing 17" Tall
Condition
Condition is very good for age with two small lip chips, two glaze flakes on the edge of each handle, these are typical and not distracting in any way.
