Description
This Maison Jansen coffee table is truly a nice piece. If you look at the photos provided you will see that the piece is signed and numbered underneath of the apron. Maison Jansen was an interior decoration office based out of Paris founded in 1880 by Jean-Henri Jansen. They specialized in mostly Louis XVI style furniture and then progressing and adapting to changes throughout the years until they transitioned in Deco and Mid Century modern in their final years. The firm closed its doors in 1979. The firm was taken over by Stephane Boudin in 1920 who continued the legacy and was responsible for decorating the White House with Jackie Kennedy while President John F. Kennedy was in office. 16 1/4" h x 41 3/4" w x 20" d.
Condition
Good antique condition apart from some light surface scratches, minor finish loss, tarnishing to the brass and an old repair to the marble. As to be expected with items of age and use.
