Entirely sewn 38-star United States flag, 6 FEET x 8 FEET 10 INCHES, stenciled in black on inside white hem (running down from top grommet) “ISAAC CAMM HOPE ST. BRISTOL R I”. The (ship’s?) name CRUARD, CRONARD, or (....?) is written in (browned) ink near one of the gromets. See photograph for limited light red staining, soiling, and few minor holes (none so large as a quarter dollar). NOTE: Sea Capt. Isaac Camm (1823-1897) long captained one of A T. and T. J. Usher’s ships plying the U.S. trade with CUBA. He lived at 256 Hope Street, Bristol, in a house still standing.
