lot 153: unexamined out of frame; probably trimmed; with toning and some areas of foxing commensurate with age, including some noticeable spots and dark impression lines to right facing side (from former mat / framing method); some scattered small areas of water-staining; probably formerly mounted, with a few discolored adhesive spots evident along perimeter, slightly obscuring and blurring inscriptions to either lower corner; some areas of pigment discoloration along edges, possibly indicative of re-touching or conservation from former mounting technique; with six tears along edges, the largest tear being in the upper right-facing edge; more recently matted and the frame backed with paper, retaining period frame
