Gilt case with eglomise panels, door with decoration of "Aurora" with acorn finial, fluted bracket base, and acorn pendant, with gilt brass side brackets

Provenance:
Descended through the estate of a New York Lady (Mt. Kisco & NYC)
A signed patent timepiece is illustrated in an ad in Antiques, July 1930, pg. 51ASA, Wilkins is listed as a clockmaker in Wiscasset ME as early as 1810. He was also listed in 1813 in Boston tax records working that year as a journeyman clockmaker on Back Street (Assessors 1800-30) He made Tall case clocks and Banjo clocks. This one would date around 1815. Ref. Willard's Patent Time Pieces, Paul J. Foley, pg 329
