The estate of James Berndon (1931 - 2017) after the passing of his loving spouse the collection has been placed in our care. He served in the military during the Korean conflict, After military service he was employed By a major communication company where he spent times in the Asian countries His interest of the fine artwork on porcelains created his desire to collect various items over his career.

Set of Four Chinese Qing Dynasty Famille Rose Porcelain Bowls. Four porcelain potted in a shallow body, slight deep, thick and bulbous body, with angled cavetto elevated the steep sides upward the flaring mouth rim, raised on a small round, with slight concave footing. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against famille rose design color, depicted of abundant auspicious pattern, flowers bloom and Chinese ornament. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed script characters reign mark. Made in The Years of Guangxu Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty. Made in The Years of Tongzhi Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
