The estate of James Berndon (1931 - 2017) after the passing of his loving spouse the collection has been placed in our care. He served in the military during the Korean conflict, After military service he was employed By a major communication company where he spent times in the Asian countries His interest of the fine artwork on porcelains created his desire to collect various items over his career.

Set of Four Chinese Qing Dynasty Monochrome Glazed Porcelain Vases. The porcelain potted in a turquoise monochrome vase, tea dust plum vase, red vase and jiblue double gourd bottle. An amazing level of craftsmanship exquisite, and magnificent. In Chinese culture, green stands for cleanliness and purity from contamination. Blue stands for healing, trust and long life. The red color of the packet symbolizes good luck, corresponding with fire, good fortune and joy. Tea powder glaze is one of the important varieties of iron crystal glaze in ancient China. Shades of blue are used to decorate homes for longevity and harmony. All this in advertently gave texture, energy, shading to the design, and prosperous combination color in Chinese culture.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years of Guangxu Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
