The estate of James Berndon (1931 - 2017) after the passing of his loving spouse the collection has been placed in our care. He served in the military during the Korean conflict, After military service he was employed By a major communication company where he spent times in the Asian countries His interest of the fine artwork on porcelains created his desire to collect various items over his career.

1960s Republic Period Famille Rose Porcelain Tea Sets. Teapot and four spur with cup coaster. Potted in set of tea pot shape, globular lower belly, deep curved side, short neck with thick flaring round mouth rim with dome lid finial bud, curved spout flanked on the mid belly outward at the short mouth rim and a looped handles flanked on the other side, raised on round foot base slight concave. And Potted in four set elegant spur and unique shape with small size which is convenient for holding. It is stately and ingenious. These cup have flared mouths, straight downward sides and coaster plate has a broad small central interior, rounded mouth lip, raised on correspondence footed ring base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast famille rose design color, depicted of flowers bloom interspersed foliage and tendril. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. ONE CUP HANDLE IS BROKEN/MISSING.
