About the Item
I've included a photo here of the blue sticker a movie studio put on the back of this beautiful old German pastel when they rented it from my Magazine Street gallery for the shoot of one of the "Twilight" movies. Apparently it was used in "the cabin scene," but I can't bring myself to watch a teen vampire film or whatever it is just to see the paintings they rented from me in a Hollywood movie! I will leave that to you, should you decide to purchase it. At any rate, there is an inscription on the back that says "Torweg Zum Josefsturm in Schrabisch Hall, Wurttenmburg, Sud Deutschland". I put the age at late 19th century, judging from the stretcher. Just a lovely old street scene, beautifully rendered. Antique frame has a few dings but as you can see, nothing really bothersome. Watercolor image itself measures 16" x 12".
