Dance" encapsulates my endeavor to articulate my innermost self through a vibrant symphony of colors. Each brushstroke is akin to a dancer's graceful movement, fluid and spontaneous, capturing the essence of my emotions in every swirl and splash. The accidental fusion of colors adds an element of spontaneity, mirroring the unpredictability of life itself. Through this artwork, I invite the viewer to join me in this dance of expression, where every hue tells a story and every stroke embodies a feeling Ogheneruemu Joel arueya was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He hails from Ughella north local Government in Delta zeta state, Nigeria, and had his primary and secondary education in Lagos Nigeria. He soon realized his love for art and apprenticed himself to a small art studio where he learnt a few art tricks. He studied General Arts at the Auchi polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, Nigeria. This gave him a solid foundation to discover his true artistic self. He graduated with a Higher Diploma in Fine Arts with specialization in Painting. Ten years down the line, he has finally found himself, his paintings are collected by several high profile officers both locally and internationally. Aside this, he has participated in several group exhibitions and art auctions in Nigeria, and the UK such as Marcel's Attic art auction (UK), SOGAL art auction (Nigeria), Terra Kulture, My Drum Auction House (Nigeria) and several others. He has a two solo exhibitions to his credit, one sponsored by Guaranty Trust Bank Nigeria. a showcase of what he has been up to in recent times at the Oasis Lounge, Murtala Mohamed International Airport, Lago's Nigeria. His second solo is powered by AMG Projects/ Artsy Joel Arueya's solo exhibition 'MAGIC. He also did a two month art residence at "kunst Ayl Art Residemz Quedliburg, Germany, His consistent artistic expressions have paved way for him in the art scene and beyond. Interestinly, Otto Gallery(US) featured some of his works. His works were also used for a Sterling Bank advert to promote their love and regard for culture and creativity in a mix with spoken words. He was one of the few artists invited by the Government of Lagos State. Akinwunmi Ambode to brainstorm on ways to further beautify the state.ABOUT MY ART Joel Arueya is a multitalented creative with an adapt love for his lines, forms and colours as a major means of visual expression. His works are highly conceptual, possessing deep undertones that go beyond his visual representations which are largely mood-driven and message-led. He is dynamic and industrious and loves to create mixed-media paintings on canvas filled with thoughts of his emotions and feelings, using symmetric and asymmetric lines, texture, colours and patterns.
