Description
Harrison Begay, also known as Haashké yah Níyá Diné/ Navajo painter. Title: Weaver in Summer Camp, circa 1960's executed in Casein Color as was his Nicely framed behind acid glass 26" x 30" frame, 13" x 15" Image on a 20" x 24" board. Begay was the last surviving student of Dorothy Dunn at the Santa Fe Indian School. After returning from the service, Began Begay his professional painting career in 1947, In the 1960s Harrison met General Eisenhower at the annual Ceremonials in Gallup, New Mexico. In 1960 Begay presented General Eisenhower with one of his paintings which is in a permanent collection in Washington, D.C.
