Description
**This item is heavy/oversized and will require 3rd party shipping. Please inquire about shipping cost prior to bidding.**
South Pacific to Western United States, ca. 1935 to 1945, Large and heavy single airplane propeller in a gorgeous dark, highly grained hardwood. Attached to original collar and geared mechanism, this was attached along with one to three additional blades - but most of the Pan Pacific clipper fleet used three propellers per engine. Most likely coming off a radial engine, brass front blade protector held in place with length of smooth rivets. Although this is simply an educated guess (wood experts, please feel free to correct me), this propeller appears to be made of Monkey Wood, a hard, dense wood often used in outdoor applications. Size: 51.7" L x 9" W (131.3 cm x 22.9 cm)
Provenance: private Rochester, Michigan, USA collection
All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids.
We ship worldwide to most countries and handle all shipping in-house for your convenience.
