Ancient Near East, Byzantine Empire, ca. 6th to 7th century CE. A beautiful ring of minimalist presentation with a cup and wire made from 94.73% gold. Inside the circular bezel is a gorgeous garnet cabochon exhibiting deep crimson hues that stand out nicely against the opulent hues of the granulations around the bezel and along the shank. Size (ring): 0.82" L x 0.97" W (2.1 cm x 2.5 cm); (garnet): 0.26" Diameter (0.7 cm); gold quality: 94.73% (equivalent to 22K+); total weight: 2.8 grams; US ring size 7.5
