An agate pendant 'double swan', late Qing Dynasty (private English collection)
finely carved agate pendant depicts of pair of swans in recumbent, both swans rest their heads on their backs and gaze at one another from opposite directons, their wings retracted in resting positions with their feathers being shown through careful incisions, the necks of the swans curve naturally and graciously creating a harmonious scene of rest and tranquility, the stone of uneven tone with colours transition naturally from burnt orange to a creamy white tone
