Description
Manufactured in 1971. Features an 8-3/8" solid rib pinned barrel, blued finish with exquisite custom engraving and gold fill throughout, believed to be attributed to Joseph Condon who was dubbed "Engraver to the Stars." Scroll engraving highlighted by gold inlay and punch dot background accents on both sides - rear, center, and muzzle end of the barrel. Blade front sight, rear adjustable notch sight. Six round fluted swing-out cylinder with scroll engraving between the flutes and gold inlay border. Frame is blued and features intricate scroll engraving on both sides of the frame. Left side features a gold bobcat inlay with gold border and scroll inlay. Right side features a gold fox and rabbit inlay with gold inlaid border and scroll. Standard 17-3 features include square butt K frame, full rib with engraved border, case colored target hammer and trigger. Sports a beautiful pair of custom ivory grips. Joseph Condon, born in 1929, had a varied and interesting career as a commercial artist, amateur heavyweight boxing champion, stunt driver, magician, custom jeweler, holster designer, stock maker, and escape artist. An engraver since the 1950's, Condon catered his arts to many celebrities such as Elvis Presley. CALIBER: .22 LR. S/N: 1K48083. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
Condition
Barrel and frame retain 98% blue. Light drag marks on the cylinder. Ivory grips present with age cracks. Good bore and mechanics.
