Description
Poster reads " La Pepiniere" at top and has play details at the bottom. OD/In frame it measures approx 17.5" H x 14" W. Not sure date of printing. Framing back label from "Phyllis Lucas Old Print Center, 981 Second Avenue, New York City." This poster advertises for a show at La Pepiniere Theatre, in Paris. A woman in a red cape next to her date. The show title "Chauffons! Chauffons!" translates to "Hot! Hot!". On the bottom right side of the poster, the show scheduled to have 2 acts, 3 tableaus and directed by MM. Fred Tony and J. Telloc. Jules-Alexandre Grun (1868 ? 1934) was a French post-impressionist painter, poster artist, and illustrator.
