Very Large Japanese Celadon Glaze Porcelain Jar, probably late 19th-early 20th century in date, in pale celadon glaze. The only decoration is a branch of peony carved in slight relief. The monochromatic aesthetic was no doubt inspired by Chinese monochromatic porcelains know to artist working in the Kyoto-area. Finely potted, a 2- character inscription is inscribed on the base is Shozan. Comes with carved wood base. Provenance: The James and Christine Heusinger Collection.
