Provenance: The Private Collection of Robin Chretien, founder of Robin's Jean; from JackieStantonArt.com: "All pieces shown here are works on heavy-duty cotton canvas stapled to thickly made, custom-sized wooden stretchers. The wood is 3"x 2", cut to length. In addition, the canvas is backed by a 1" sheet of Styrofoam for greater strength and protection. The surface of the canvas is first covered with a specially formulated, non-cracking plaster. After this dries, the painting begins. I use water-based paint, and water-based varnish. Most of the work is created with a variety of silk screens combined with freehand brushwork. Each piece is unique and not part of a series. New screens are added whenever necessary. At this moment I use over two hundred different screens, which are basically a type of modern stencil invented over a hundred years ago, originally appropriated for fine art by Warhol and Rauschenberg."
