Description
A fine antique 19th century Russian gilt silver Orthodox church kovsh by Pavel Ovchinnikov. The bowl of the kovsh has an engraved Slavic inscription. Features a long handle designed in a crown shape and topped with a cross. Hallmarked on the underside with Moscow, 84, assay initials A.K, date 1881, makers name P. Ovchinnikov with Imperial Warrant. Pavel Ovchinnikov was a Russian jewelry manufacturer and supplier of the Imperial court in the late 19th - early 20th century. Collectible Antique Russian Silver Tableware. Weight 95 gm.
