Enamel-painted Creamware Platter with Pierced Decoration, Josiah Wedgwood, Staffordshire, England, late 18th century. Oblong shallow bowl with twelve-lobed shaped rim, the edge penciled in overglaze blue enamel to encircle band of pierced geometric ornament pierced through the shaped marly walls, the well encircled by conforming painted blue and orange loop-and-dot pattern, the bottom impressed 'WEDGWOOD' and '8' inside foot rim, wd. 11 1/2, dp. 9, ht. 1 5/8 in.
