Description
This vintage On Point 9 Patch Quilt was started in the 1890s and quilted in the 1940s. It measures 78 x 79". It is comprised of 42 9 patch blocks, set on point, 6 by 7, with various print alternating squares and indigo print setting triangles. There is a madder print border measuring 5.5" vertically and 11" horizontally. Thin cotton batting and a sweet floral on plaid cotton print reverse from the 1940s. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. The edge is finished knife edge style and applied by hand. It's in good condition with several small spots. This quilt is from the estate of Sharon Stark, noted Pennsylvania textile dealer and award winning author.
