Transylvanian limb belt, 17th century silver, gilded, cast, embossed, openworked, filigree; painted enamel, pearls, emeralds.Beautiful, so-called link belt in baroque style, consisting of 8 silver plates and an oval clasp, richly and meticulously decorated with colorful floral motifs in painted enamel in pastel shades (pink, yellow, white, blue, green), incorporated into a filigree arabesque, and set with small pearls and small square cabochons with emeralds; the plates are connected with silver links. L. 75 cm. The ornamental composition shows Turkish influences, a testament to the fascination that oriental art exerted on the artists and goldsmiths of the Romanian principalities and Transylvania.
