Description
Near East, Islamic, ca. 9th to 12th century CE. A captivating jar free-blown from translucent blue-green glass that has now been enveloped by layers of rainbow iridescence and centuries of weathering film that now render the surface almost entirely opaque. The ancient vessel features a vertically fluted body with a flattened shoulder and a tubular spout, all sitting upoin a planar base. Size: 2" Diameter x 2.6" H (5.1 cm x 6.6 cm)
Provenance: private Wailea, Hawaii, USA collection, acquired via descent from father, who collected prior to 2000
