Description
The Travels and Surprising Adventures of Baron Munchausen Hurst & Co Publishers
Rare, illustrated edition of The Travels and Surprising Adventures of Baron Munchausen, a fictional German nobleman created by the German writer Rudolf Erich Raspe. The author lived from March 1736 – November 1794. Research indicates he wrote the book in 1785, but was not published until latter part of the 1800s. There is no date in this book, which was published by Hurst & Co., Publishers, New York (1871-1919). The illustrator was Alfred Henry Forrester (10 September 1804 – 26 May 1872), an English author, comics artist, illustrator, and artist, who was also known under the pseudonym of Alfred Crowquill. The book is in sound condition with cover wholly intact. It does have some cosmetic issues which we have captured in photos to the best of our ability. Please see all photos.
Side note: After reading the forward (as such) and the first chapter, I can guarantee that anyone who reads it will find themselves laughing heartily over and over! And most of us know laughter is the best medicine. Enjoy!; The Travels and Surprising Adventures of Baron Munchausen Hurst & Co Publishers
