BIOGRAPHY:
Artist Statement: "I was born in Europe on 22 November 1955 As a child and teenager, I was fortunate that my family lived close to the sea, and that I could spend my vacation on my grandparents' farm in the mountains. It was during this time that I not only fell in love with all af natures' creatures, but with sketching and painting them, too. I've also been lucky to have a family and an art teacher who were very supportive, and helped me develop my talent and passion for drawing and painting. My early formal education led to graduation from a Fine Arts High School, followed by attending the noted Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest. Although I often tried my abilities as a non-figurative painter, I never stopped painting animals and landscapes So it was with great enjoyment that I embarked on my love of wildlife art here in the United States, where this most beautiful country maintains many wildlife preserves, zoos, and National Parks It's a joy to share my experiences with people so attuned to nature and outdoor life. My artistic endeavors are often pursued at my home in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains, where wildlife abounds I have works in galleries all over the East Coast, Wild Wings Galleries, Minnesota, Morgan Gallery, Pennsylvania, and King Gallery, New York City My originals are in many private collections including Bernard Lewin, Beverly Hills, George Fetch, Stroudsburg, PA, etc. Acquisitions by Massachusetts Audobon Society in Lincoln, MA. - 9 limited and open edition prints. - Runner-up in many state duck stamp competitions as well as the Federal contest. I also do illustrations for many publicatiotis, including Field & Stream and The Conservationist. I am a member of the Society of Animal Artists, the Japan International Artist Society (1979), and participant in the Grand Prix D'Art tiadern Et Contemporaine" Monte-- carlo, Monaco (1979 & 1981) My mentor here in the U.S. is the renowned artist Mr. Bob Kuhn."
