19th Century Wind Up Automaton Doll, 15" Tall

Item Details

Description

Offered is a late 19th Century, Automaton Doll, approx. 15" tall. Appears to have her original dress. Bisque head shoulders, and bisque lower arms. Back of shoulderplate marked "Made in Germany". At the bottom there is a wind up key and lever for on/off. When tested, doll does move slowly in a circular pattern or in the direction of the front wheel, and the arms move back and forth. Head features open mouth with molded teeth, and brown fixed eyes. Dress shows age and is very tattered throughout, and the 2 closure claps on the back are broken. Face shows some light surface wear, there is a 1/2" scuff mark on the chin, and light wear to other limbs.
