Thirteen Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad Playing Card Decks
A group of thirteen playing card decks for Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad including new old stock. Notable decks in the group include Narrow Souvenir Royal Gorge design circa 1925, with 53 Views of D&RGW in red cardboard sleeve showing minimal signs of use but wear to the box. Two decks in the Engine 540 design in both Rust and Blue styles circa 1946, given a V-4, difficult to locate, rating in Bollhagen's book. The Blue deck shows standard to moderate signs of use and is missing the 8 and King of Diamonds. The Red deck includes all 52 playing cards plus 2 Jokers and 2 1946 Calendar cards, and shows heavy signs of use with discoloration, wear to the graphics, a few creases, or worn corners. Decks with Engine 5464 Left Orange and Engine 5464 Right Silver circa 1950, given a V-4, difficult to locate, rating in Bollhagen's book. The Orange deck shows minimal use but discoloration and wear to the box. The Silver deck shows moderate use to the cards and box. Double deck with Prospector and Royal Gorge Black Bridge designs circa 1955. Prospector shows minimal signs of use and Royal Gorge deck is sealed. Double deck in red cardboard box with the Logo design in both Red and Yellow styles, circa 1960. The Red shows minimal signs of use and the Yellow deck is sealed. Double deck with Narrow Gauge Train and Cliff Palace circa 1965, both sealed. Double deck with Train On Cliff River Below and Trian Over Wooden Trestle circa 1988, both sealed.
