Four White Pass & Yukon Route Playing Card Decks
A group of four playing card decks for White Pass & Yukon Route including three original souvenir cardboard sleeve boxes circa 1910 in different colors, all showing general discoloration, wear along the edges, and tape repair and writing marks on the blue box. The blue box has the Train Extended Blue Circle logo, shows minor wear to the gold edge, standard signs of use, a corner crease to the Jack of Clubs, and includes 52 playing cards plus one Joker, a story, a map, and table of distances cards. The dark yellow box has the Train Within Red Circle logo and shows minimal to no signs of use with bright gold edge and appears complete with 56 cards. The orange box has the Train Within Red Circle logo and shows moderate wear to the gold edge, discoloration from use, and includes 52 playing cards plus a story card and table of distances card. These decks are given a V-5, very difficult to locate, rating in Bollhagen's book. Group also includes an unopened souvenir deck in original cellophane with The White Pass and Yukon Story design. The deck as produced exclusively for Murdoch's Gem Shop in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory and shows a minor tear to the packaging and a sticker on the front. See photos for best description.
