A mechanical mice toy housed within a cardboard box - cranking the handle on the side causes three different movement of white mice within the box - the spinner with mice mounted on the wheel is slightly loose and does not always move - the other 2 mechanisms work fine. Probably mid 20th century. Measures 3" W x 4 1/4"D x 2 3/8"H. Provenance: From the Thomas & Gail Rockwell collection, LaGrangeville NY. Tom is the son of the renowned American artist, Norman Rockwell and the author or many children's books. His late wife Gail, was an artist-illustrator and the daughter of Arthur E. Sudler and Janet Whitson Sudler, both early 20th century artists - she illustrated several of her husband's children's books.
