Swiss Cylinder Inlaid Music Box W/ Stand. c.1867, by the Charles Bremond Firm, Geneva, Switzerland. Rosewood case has striped inlaid borders, ebonized trim and brass side handles; on a matching base with 2 drawers with storage for 8 cylinders. Hinged lid with tune card on the reverse displaying partial tune selection for 6 cylinders, tune card reads "Etouffoirs En Acier Soit A Spiraux"; ebonized dust cover with pierced carved panels and hand painted landscape scene of the "Ille Rousseau" on Lake Geneva. The quality spring driven mechanism plays 14 in. brass cylinders each with 6 tunes, has internal ratchet crank on the left side. Contains silvered music combs, brass drum, 6 silvered bells with figural bird hammers, wood block and pipe organ playing 18 notes. Mechanism has had Professional museum quality restoration by Rita Ford Music Boxes, therefor is in excellent working condition. Has 6 cylinders, refinished; few seam cracks and few minor repairs in the veneer. Silvered presentation plaque on the front reads "Elizabeth B. Morris, from her father, 1867". Measures 39 in. high x 39 in. wide x 26 in. deep.
