An Indo-Persian gouache depicting kings, servants, horse, buildings, other figures, etc. - hand painted picture-frame border, 18th/19th century or earlier - the backing on laid paper and the artwork on thick artist paper applied to the paper backing. Signed illegible on reverse side. Some paint flakes on border, else very good condition. Measures 18 3/8" x 13 7/8". Provenance: From the Thomas & Gail Rockwell collection, LaGrangeville NY. Tom is the son of the renowned American artist, Norman Rockwell and the author or many children's books. His late wife Gail, was an artist-illustrator and the daughter of Arthur E. Sudler and Janet Whitson Sudler, both early 20th century artists - she illustrated several of her husband's children's books.
