Two stoneware crocks. The first decorated with a blue bird on branch, several rim chips, tight hairline near base, and some staining - measures 9" diameter x 8 1/2"H; the second, decorated with a cobalt blue flower, crack extending from rim to base on back side, otherwise good condition - measures 8 1/2" diameter of top x 7"H. Provenance: From the Thomas & Gail Rockwell collection, LaGrangeville NY. Tom is the son of the renowned American artist, Norman Rockwell and the author or many children's books. His late wife Gail, was an artist-illustrator and the daughter of Arthur E. Sudler and Janet Whitson Sudler, both early 20th century artists - she illustrated several of her husband's children's books.
