Indian Ceremonial Brocade Robe, Benares, Early 19th C. Silk, gold, and silver thread are intricately woven to create this dignitary's robe, generously proportioned and made of sumptuous brocade incorporating real silver and gold threads. The pattern of this coat showcases a large medallion at the back and botehs in the front on the shoulders and all corners, making it an outstanding example of Benares brocade. Size: 55'' x 63'' (140 x 160 cm). Provenance: Ex Yosi Barzilai collection.
