Description
Chinese Silk Embroidered Shawl, Late 19th C. Made of patterned silk with double faced embroidery on both ends with motifs including Buddhist and Taoist auspicious symbols, such as endless knot, fan, sword, bat, wheel and stork, all done in tight satin stitch. The monochromatic patterned silk features phoenix birds in flight. Size: 40'' x 18.5'' (102 x 47 cm). Provenance: Ex Yosi Barzilai collection.
