Chinese Embroidered Robe Border, 19th C. This exquisite piece is a double border from a Chinese woman's surcoat, featuring a striking combination of black and white silk. The outer border, crafted from black silk, and the inner border, composed of white silk, are meticulously embroidered with satin-stitched silk and couched metallic thread. The intricate design includes birds in flight, flowering sprigs, and auspicious symbols, all bordered by bats, symbolizing good fortune. Size: 59'' x 27'' (150 x 69 cm). Provenance: Ex Yosi Barzilai collection.
