America, 19th century. An 1852 State of Indiana Letters Patent purchased by Henry Hanna of Cincinnati, Ohio. Signed by the 10th governor of Indiana, Joseph A. Wright.
Overall fair condition; splitting in creases and some staining throughout.
Henry Hanna (1812-1905) was a notable Cincinnati industrialist, philanthropist, and financier. He owned many of the most valuable business blocks in the city, was president of the Little Miami Railroad Company and Cincinnati Bell Telephone Company, and funded construction of The University of Cincinnati’s Hanna Hall.
