1 aubergine & black floral ribbon stripe pattern silk taffeta extended polonaise style bodice w/ wrapped cording & tassel trim, ruched bands, thread covered dome buttons, cotton velveteen faux Wcoat front, B 30”, W 22”, L 42”, (petticoat N/I, light discoloration, minor shatter underarms & hem, seam strain CB W, small holes, missing closure at W, light wear, 0.5” hole front rt bodice) good; 2-pc patterned silk taffeta in floral & berry sprig motif w/ woven double fringed brown & navy blue band, triple puff at SH into double ruffle pagoda sleeve, 1840s, B 33”, L 15”, skirt W 22”, L 42”, (CF opening altered, discoloration, shattering collar, bodice lining damaged, heavy wear CF placket, 3”x4” of rt sleeve cut out, many small holes, Wband & hem altered) fair. Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum to benefit collections care, preservation and future acquisitions.
