Claret silk velvet w/ standing soutache applique’ on heavy net ground insertions to sleeves, CF, back W & skirt, silk georgette insertions over B, Hs & to back of skirt, rows of embroidered knots over satin bindings w/ panels accentuated by & terminating in gland tassels, original slip, late 1910s, B 36”, W 36”, L 48”, (pulls & tears up to 1.5” in georgette, tears in net at SH up to 3”, 0.5” hole in velvet lower CF, few small openings/repairs b/t panels, loose stitching at left back H gather, minor trim loss, light wear to velvet) good. Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum to benefit collections care, preservation and future acquisitions.
