Bill Barrick is a painter of the bygone rural Southwest, often depicting farms and farm implements. He believes that agriculture is deserving of a more prominent place in history, and that farmers have not been given due credit for their development of the West. He paints objects instead of ideas, using a lot of acrylic glazes. In addition, he rarely paints human figures because his desire is for the viewer to place them self into the scene.Barrick attended art school at West Texas State University, and later became a high school teacher. His work has been featured on covers of the Saturday Evening Post.He is a member of the Texas Association of Professional Artists.
