BIOGRAPHY:
Charles Kenroy was born in 1875. He was known in the area as a very talented landscape painter who won several national awards at various exhibitions. His art was shown at the Corcoran Galleries in Washington, DC.A life-long resident of Anderson, IN, He was employed by both the Buckeye Manufacturing Co. and the Ward Stilson Co. as a commercial artist.Charles Kenroy was part of the Anderson Society of Artists which was presided over by Ruthven Byrum. This group cooperated with the Art Association of Anderson which both strove to raise the standard of art in the Anderson area.Kenroy passed away at the age of sixty-four in 1940 after a two-year battle with a heart condition.
