Description
An antique Persian steel beggars bowl, also named Kashkul, a vessel used by Sufi dervishes to collect and store alms. Qajar Empire, 1795 to 1925. Boat-shaped piece with chain holder. Niello and engraved decor includes a panel with sufi sages, Sasanian-like figurative frieze, and floral ornaments. Oriental Decor, Metalwork, Islamic Religious Items.
Dimensions: 9 x 7 x 4 3/4 in. All measurements are approximate.
