Description
Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A rare seated effigy of the goddess Hathor nursing the infant god Horus. Hathor presents seated atop a minimalist throne while baring one breast and wearing a crown of bull horns flanking a sun disc, and the entire figure is covered in light green glaze. An integral suspension loop on the verso indicates that this was worn on a necklace strand, perhaps with additional beads. Size: 0.72" L x 0.53" W x 1.97" H (1.8 cm x 1.3 cm x 5 cm)
