Footnotes
The present lot was designed for and originally installed in the dining room of the Loize family residence in Marly, outside Paris. The Marly interiors were a major project for Old, and an important articulation of his style. “The whole,” writes Yves Badetz, “illustrates perfectly an elegant residence in the postwar Parisian countryside.”
For the other dining tables and chairs from the Marly dining room, please see Lots 16, 17; for the dining room cabinet, please see Lot 19
