Northern Europe, England, Medieval period, purportedly found in Middlesex, ca. 1250 to 1300 CE. A lovely openwork bronze brooch of hexagonal form with a hinged pin that vertically crosses the openwork body. Annular bezels with inlaid enamel adorn each corner with petite punch marks embellishing each side of the brooch. Size: 1.4" L x 1.2" W (3.6 cm x 3 cm)

Missing 5 enamel inlays, and expected surface wear as shown, commensurate with age. Otherwise, intact and very nice with rich patina. Functional but not recommended for wear.
