Description
Spanish school of the early eighteenth century.
"Baby Jesus".
Carved and polychrome wood.
Measurements: 57 cm (height); 65 cm (height with base).
Image worked in wood in round bulk, delicately polychromed. It represents the naked Baby Jesus, since it would be originally dressed with rich royal clothes, made ex profeso. The naturalism and the quality of the work of the face stand out, of great emotion, delicate and tender. The realism and expressiveness are enhanced by the large eyes, with meticulously painted irises. The limbs have been delicately turned and the curly hair has been worked strand by strand.
