Rare Lithograph After J. W. Hill, Savannah, GA, 1855, Rare Lithograph After J. W. Hill, Savannah, GA, 1855, lithograph by Charles Parsons (1821-1910) Printed by Endicott & Co. N.Y. after a drawing by John William Hill, showing Robert Launitz's Pulaski monument in Monterey Square and the surrounding area, titled and with publisher's marks across bottom, with Old Print Shop gallery label on verso, in a giltwood frame. Frame size: 30 3/8 in. x 42 1/4 in.Measurements: Height: of sheet 27 1/4 in. x Width: 39 in.
Condition
Fair condition, laid down, trimmed, wear to edges of sheet, bug damage left bottom edge and right top edge, multiple repairs along edges in border, repaired 1 1/2 in. tear with overpainting center of bottom edge into caption, over painting in sky, toning, recolored, loss near horizon line in upper left quadrant above train, faint crease from top edge into sky, horizontal cut along bottom edge stopping at centerline, partially lifting. Wear to frame, rubbing to gilt, chips to edges at corners.
