Description
Western Europe, England, London, ca. 19th century CE; United States, New Hampshire, Winchester, ca. 19th century CE. A collection of 3 wood, brass, and elephant ivory clarinets. The smallest is an E flat clarinet that is marked by the US company Graves & Company, and this likely dates from 1830s to 1850s when instrument maker Samuel Graves joined with partners in Winchester New Hampshire. The largest is a London made boxwood clarinet marked G. Astor & Co. with the unicorn emblem which suggests it dates to between 1800 to 1831 CE. The large, ebony wood instrument is unmarked. Size of largest: 25.5" L x 2.25" W (64.8 cm x 5.7 cm)

This is an ESA antique exempt piece of ivory and cannot be sold internationally or to anyone residing in the states of California, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington. We guarantee that the piece was made prior to 1972.

Condition
Stable pressure fissures and abrasions to wood. Patina to brass and losses to pads on keys. Dark wood is missing the brass bell rim. Joints are slightly loose or overly tight on some. Fair to good conditions. Not tested for playing functionality.
