Description
The Connecticut Courant, Monday, June 11, 1787. #1168. American Revolution leader John Hancock (1737-1793), a signer of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the first governor of Massachusetts, is accepting the governorship as reported in the Connecticut Courant. Also contains a nice full page dissertation on Connecticut's house of representatives and also importantly reported is George Washington's election as president of the Federal Convention held in Philadelphia on June the first, and the 25th ultimatum with Connecticut led by Oliver Ellsworth.
Condition
Complete issue previously bound and folded with stitching holes and some staining to the paper with the edges having some nibbling and two tears in the margin with one just reaching the text. 8 small holes are present on the front page mostly h. 17.5, w. 11.25" of which varies.
